✍️ On 4 May 1945, German forces in northwest Germany, Denmark, and the Netherlands surrendered to the British (Montgomery). 🏛️ On 7 May, Germany signed an unconditional surrender to the Western Allies in Reims — effective 8 May. 🪖 But the Soviets wanted their own moment.
